Christie - Birth planning and pocket doula
“My husband and I are expecting our first baby and working with Bea has filled us both with so much more knowledge, confidence and awareness of everything to come. We've had weekly antenatal sessions in person and online where Bea has shared information on everything antenatally, labour and birth, and postnatally too. She has been invaluable in providing us with all the information we needed and answered our questions for us to build out our birth plan in the most informed way.
On top of the sessions, she's been a god send as our "Pocket Doula", answering any day-to-day questions or worries we have, and helped us with research on other decisions we've made throughout. Cannot recommend enough. It's been invaluable and so lovely having her as part of our journey to parenthood. Thank you Bea!”
Lynsey - birth planning and remote birth support
“Bea was an incredible support throughout my pregnancy and on the day I went in to labour.
In the lead up to my birth Bea passed on a lot of really useful information that helped me to get into a mindset where I fully understood and believed in my bodies ability to give birth and gave me so much confidence about labour and all of the eventualities or decisions I may have to make. I went from being terrified of giving birth, to actually looking forward to the experience that awaited me and my partner.
She was the first people I reached out to the day I went in to labour, to double check if she agreed that the twinges I was feeling were contractions. She helped to manage my expectations and re-set the mindset that would see me go on to have an extremely positive and empowering birth experience, with very little pain relief.”
Anna - Caesarean birth planning
“Bea was great! Even though I wasn’t allowed doula at birth for planned c section, we had a session online and I felt very prepared for birth and what to expect at the hospital after having spoken to Bea. We spoke about birth plan in details which my midwifes didn’t do (probably because it was a planned section) and I learned so many things about my rights and choices - that was really useful. Bea went out of her way finding things out for me that weren’t possible to find on the internet and sending me thorough updates and materials to read. She was fully invested in me as a client even though I wasn’t one of the “birth” ones. She is very professional in her demeanour and very knowledgeable which filled me with confidence. All in all, it was a great match and I’m glad I went with her (I approached several doulas in the area before making that decision).”
Heather - Birth debrief
“Bea has been so helpful through my second pregnancy. I have a better understanding of my first delivery and had given me peace of mind going to my second delivery and I had more faith in myself. Definitely recommend Bea”
Emily - Birth planning
“I hadn't thought much about a birth plan as I wasn't sure (due to a medical condition) whether I would need a planned caesarean. Talking through my concerns about a caesarean with Bea was really helpful and she encouraged me to create a plan for a vaginal birth and a separate plan for a caesarean birth. Bea talked me through points to consider including pros and cons and answered my specific questions thoroughly. I now feel much more confident putting a birth plan down in writing - thank you!”
Mandy - Caesarean birth planning
“I was really grateful to talk through my C-Section plan with Bea. I had done lots of reading around and set out my wishes, but Bea’s experience identified tweaks I hadn’t even contemplated. She was really knowledgable and supportive, and wanted me to have the best birth experience for me. With a tweaked plan in place, I don’t feel our C-Section could have gone any better. It was carried out exactly as we wanted with Bea’s input into the experience we wanted to achieve. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bea to anyone wanted to sound out their birth plan.”
Hannah - Post-term pregnancy/ induction support
“My second pregnancy and labour was hugely traumatic leaving me with antenatal anxiety and ptsd throughout my third pregnancy. Bea listened, supported, advised and metaphorically held my hand through one of the darkest periods of my life. She used up to date medical research and provided me with all of my choices as I approached an induction with my third baby. I would recommend Doula Bea to any pregnant woman!”
