  • For those that don’t want or need the full doula service, I offer birth preparations sessions

  • These sessions can also be offered as an additional element to the birth doula service

  • These are 1-2 hour appointments where we discuss your aspirations for birth, any fears or concerns that you may have - including any complications in your pregnancy or previous birth experiences - and ways to prepare for birth

  • I can provide a questionnaire to be completed in advance of your first appointment, to maximise our time together. This can be converted into a template birth plan after the session if desired

  • You may only need one appointment but I can provide follow up sessions if additional support is required

Birth preparations

“Bea was great! We had a session online and I felt very prepared for birth and what to expect at the hospital after having spoken to Bea. We spoke about birth plan in details which my midwifes didn’t do (probably because it was a planned section) and I learned so many things about my rights and choices - that was really useful. Bea went out of her way finding things out for me that weren’t possible to find on the internet and sending me thorough updates and materials to read. She was fully invested in me as a client even though I wasn’t one of the “birth” ones. She is very professional in her demeanour and very knowledgeable which filled me with confidence. All in all, it was a great match.”

— Anna - first time Mum

"Bea has been so helpful through my second pregnancy. I have a better understanding of my first delivery and had given me peace of mind going to my second delivery and I had more faith in myself. Definitely recommend Bea"

Heather - Second time Mum- Birth debrief and preparation

“My husband and I are expecting our first baby and working with Bea has filled us both with so much more knowledge, confidence and awareness of everything to come. We've had weekly antenatal sessions in person and online where Bea has shared information on everything antenatally, labour and birth, and postnatally too. She has been invaluable in providing us with all the information we needed and answered our questions for us to build out our birth plan in the most informed way. Cannot recommend enough.”

— Christie - first time Mum

“Bea listened, supported, advised and metaphorically held my hand - using up to date medical research and providing me with all of my choices as I approached an induction with my third baby”

Hannah - third time Mum - preparation for induction

“Talking through my concerns about a caesarean with Bea was really helpful and she encouraged me to create a plan for a vaginal birth and a separate plan for a caesarean birth. Bea talked me through points to consider including pros and cons and answered my specific questions thoroughly.”

I now feel much more confident”

Emily - first time Mum - one-off birth preparation session

“I was really grateful to talk through my C-Section plan with Bea. I had done lots of reading around and set out my wishes, but Bea’s experience identified tweaks I hadn’t even contemplated. She was really knowledgable and supportive, and wanted me to have the best birth experience for me. With a tweaked plan in place, I don’t feel our C-Section could have gone any better. It was carried out exactly as we wanted with Bea’s input into the experience we wanted to achieve. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bea to anyone wanted to sound out their birth plan.”

Mandy - first time Mum - birth planning

“In the lead up to my birth Bea passed on a lot of really useful information that helped me to get into a mindset where I fully understood and believed in my bodies ability to give birth and gave me so much confidence about labour and all of the eventualities or decisions I may have to make.

I went from being terrified of giving birth, to actually looking forward to the experience that awaited me and my partner.”
